What Is Normal Delivery?

Normal delivery (also called vaginal delivery) is the natural process by which a baby is born through the birth canal, without surgery. It typically occurs between 37 and 42 weeks of pregnancy and involves three main stages of labor Hormonal Changes That Trigger Labor Near the end of pregnancy, the body releases: • Oxytocin – stimulates uterine contractions • Prostaglandins – soften and open the cervix • Relaxin – loosens pelvic ligaments for birth These hormones work together to help the body prepare for labor and deliver Natural Support During Labor • Breathing techniques • Changing positions • Warm showers or baths • Partner or doula support • Pain relief if needed (epidural or medications)
