What is a Hysterectomy?

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the uterus. After this surgery, you will no longer have menstrual periods or be able to become pregnant.

Types of Hysterectomy:

1. Total Hysterectomy – Removes the uterus and cervix

2. Subtotal (Partial) Hysterectomy – Removes only the uterus, leaving the cervix

3. Radical Hysterectomy – Removes uterus, cervix, part of the vagina, and nearby tissues (usually for cancer)
