:Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy, as described in Berek & Novak's Gynecology, is a procedure where a small camera called a hysteroscope is inserted into the uterus through the cervix. This allows doctors to examine the inside of the uterus and diagnose issues such as polyps, fibroids, and adhesions. Hysteroscopy can be performed for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
The procedure is minimally invasive and usually performed on an outpatient basis. Patients typically recover quickly and can return to their normal activities soon after. Post-operative care includes following the doctor's instructions and avoiding heavy activities to ensure complete recovery.
